The Campus Witch
A horror feature from Astrann Media Group. In development.
The Label
Astrann Media Group is an independent horror and genre label built on a simple idea: the strongest stories are the ones nobody else could have written. We develop and own original intellectual property — features and series rooted in horror, science fiction, and the darker corners of human nature — and we build each one for the screen from the first page. We are based in Charlotte, North Carolina, and we make films with teeth.

Logline
A lonely first-year student with a half-learned gift for magic casts a love spell on the boy she's been watching all semester — not knowing he died the night before — and binds something back to campus that wears his face and wants far more than her heart.
Synopsis
Wendy has always been the girl at the edge of the room — too quiet, too strange, too easy to overlook. So when she finds the old rites hidden in her late grandmother's things, she does the one reckless thing a fledgling sorceress should never do: she reaches for the boy she can't stop thinking about, and she calls him to her.
He comes.
But the boy who walks back into Wendy's life died the night before her spell was cast, and the thing that answered her isn't love — it's Bellus, a hunger as old as the ground the campus was built on, wearing a dead boy's smile and learning, hour by hour, to pass for human. What Wendy summoned in loneliness she now has to unmake in blood, before it finishes what it came back to do. Her only hope is the one relic her grandmother warned her never to open: the Sanctum. And opening it may cost her everyone she was trying not to lose.
The Campus Witch is a horror feature about the oldest, most dangerous spell of all — the one you cast because you were lonely — and the price of getting exactly what you asked for.
Producer-facing
Why this film, why now
Contained. Contemporary. Castable.
The Campus Witch is elevated campus horror built for a disciplined budget — a single location, a young ensemble, and a hook that sells itself in one line. Beneath the standalone film sits an original mythology — Bellus, the Sanctum, the rites — engineered from the outset to extend into a franchise. This is a first film designed to become a first franchise.
